Dragonflies are one of my favorite subjects to paint in watercolor on vellum as they are so delicate. This is my first painting of a dragonfly using casein on panel. I don’t think it will be my last! I was hiking with my dog Hunter on a glorious fall day, all blue skies and flame colored leaves when I came upon this shimmering dragonfly on some buttonbush. Perfection!
