I am a volunteer monitor for Piping Plovers at Bluff Point State Park in Groton, CT. I have about a 1 1/2 mile walk through the park on what was an old carriage road to get to the beach. Many people enjoy walking, dog-walking, jogging and biking at Bluff Point. The chipmunks that live in the stone walls that line the road are very acclimated to people, dogs, bikes, and you name whatever else! They tend to pop up on the stones, disappear when startled, but very predictably, pop up a little further on down the rode. I could have watched them forever, but there were birds to look for…
