the natural world

Not every encounter in nature centers on a single creature. Sometimes it is a light breaking over a mountain pass, or the way a marsh holds the last color of a winter afternoon, or the ancient stillness of a bristlecone pine at 10,000 feet.

This gallery gathers Kelly Leahy Radding’s paintings of landscape, place, and atmosphere — works that emerged from the same practice of deep looking that animates everything she makes. They are, like all her work, witnessed rather than imagined.
