flora

Kelly Leahy Radding’s path back to fine art ran directly through the plant world — and her deep roots in botanical art are visible in everything she paints. Her flora work holds true to the tradition she trained in: careful observation from life, an attention to the inherent nature of each subject, a respect for the quiet complexity that lives in a single stem, a seed pod, a bloom.

These paintings carry the influence of her years studying at the New York Botanical Garden and exhibiting internationally in botanical art circles — including the Shirley Sherwood Gallery at Kew Gardens and the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation at Carnegie Mellon. They are, in the fullest sense, portraits of the plant world.
